  1. The primers were used to identify transformants that were homozygous for the T-DNA insertions yielding the irx9-2, irx7 and irx8 mutants. Primer sets of right- and left-border primers (RP+LP) specific for each T-DNA insertion were generated from the SIGnAL T-DNA Primer Design website (http://signal.salk.edu/tdnaprimers.2.html). T-DNA left border primers used were LBa1 (5’-TGGTTCACGTAGTGGGCCATCG-3’) and LBb1.3 (5’-ATTTTGCCGATTTCGGAAC-3’).
