The surface areas of solids and percent lignin removed during flowthrough pretreatment of Populus trichocarpa x P. deltoides wood samples (i, j = TD, F) and cellulolytic enzyme lignin in flowthrough (i, j = CEL, F) and batch pretreatment (i, j = CEL, B) at 180°C for 12 min were calculated and compared.
