Fermentation performance of the 14 different preselected inhibitor tolerant yeast strains in comparison to Ethanol Red. Semi-anaerobic fermentation was performed in 30% pretreated slurry of spruce hydrolysate supplemented with YP and glucose to 200 g/L at pH 5.5. The course of the fermentation was followed by weight loss due to CO2 production during the fermentation. The robust industrial strain Ethanol Red (red) was used as a reference, strain JT21653 (green) was selected as the best performing strain.
