Phylogenetic tree of pectate lyases in Arabidopsis thaliana , Populus trichocarpa , and other plants. The tree was constructed by the neighbor-joining method using MEGA5. The Populus gene numbering is consistent with [12] and family designation (I-V) is consistent with [10]. The optimal tree with the sum of branch length = 5.9 is shown. The percentage of replicate trees in which the associated taxa clustered together in the bootstrap test (1,000 replicates) are shown next to the branches.
