The sugar values illustrated are the sugar content in “enzyme plus Avicel substrate” minus “enzyme blank”. The sample of concentrated crude enzymes of chimeric CBHI was prepared by concentrating the 4-day fermentor culture 35-fold, using ultrafiltration. Values are presented as the mean (±SE) of three replicates.
