Parameters WT TAM-2 TAM-4
Half-saturation intensity (μmol photons m-2 s-1) 275 ± 48a 259 ± 42a 238 ± 51a
Pmax (μmol O2 mg Chl-1 h-1) 119 ± 7.2a 164 ± 7.3b 141.5 ± 12.0a
Respiration (μmol O2 mg Chl-1 h-1) 6.2 ± 3.0a 10.4 ± 4.4a,b 16.4 ± 4.3b
Respiration (fmol oxygen cell-1 h-1) 3.1 ± 1.5a,b 2.6 ± 1.2a 5.6 ± 1.5b
Pmax/respiration (relative units) 19.3 ± 9.4a 15.8 ± 6.7a,b 8.6 ± 2.4b
  1. Parameters were measured on a dark-adapted cell suspension of wild-type (WT), TAM-2, and TAM-4, at seven days of photoautotrophic growth in BG-11 medium in low light conditions (70 μmol photons m-2 s-1, 25°C). O2 evolution/consumption were measured with a Clark-type oxygen electrode. Data are expressed as mean ± SD (n >4). Significantly different values (ANOVA, P <0.05) with respect to the WT, within the same row, are marked with different letters.
