Effect of EDA separation methods on substance recoveries of CS after pretreatment (a) and sugar yields after following enzymatic hydrolysis (b). EDA loading was 1.0 mL/g biomass. EDA was separated from biomass with different methods before uniform mixing for 20 min at 20 °C. Air-drying was carried out at 20 °C in fume hood for 120 h. Water-washing and ethanol-washing were carried out by washing with water and ethanol, respectively, with a solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:10 (g:mL) for 3 times to remove EDA, followed by air-drying at room temperature in fume hood.
