The RSMs are used, together with the standard deviations of replicate conditions in the ASE, SER, ZCR, and LHR to describe near-optimal spaces for each reactor for total xylose yield. The near-optimal space is defined as the conditions which produce a yield within two standard deviations of the optimal yield. The optimal condition found in the ASE is shown to illustrate the ability to directly use optimum conditions found in this high-throughput reactor as an approximation of the optimal conditions in larger reactor systems
