Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). DSC measures changes in heat flowing through the sample as the oil is heated or cooled between solid and liquid phases. P-DSC measures changes in heat flowing through the sample as it is heated under a constant flow of oxygen as purge gas. a Cooling (top) and melting (bottom) transitions of the MBE measured by DSC. Transitions were characterized by the onset temperatures annotated next the cooling (−9.61 °C) and heating (−6.82 °C) scans in the figure.
