Basis for using CcpA binding sites in B. subtilis to identify GlyR3 binding sites in C. thermocellum. Amino acid sequence alignment of the first 60 amino acid residuals of CcpA in B. subtilis and GlyR1 and GlyR3 in C. thermocellum using clustal omega v1.2.0 [37]. A total of 11 and 14 of the 18 amino acid residuals in GlyR1 and Glyr3, respectively, in direct contact with the DNA are identical to those in CcpA [38]
