Identification of significant changes in gene expression associated with high levels of ethanol production in T. saccharolyticum. Gene expression was compared between the high ethanol-producing group of strains (LL1267, LL1268, and M1442) and strains that produced ethanol at wild-type levels (wt Tsac, LL1269, LL1270, and HKO3). Genes whose expression was higher in the high ethanol-producing group are plotted on the right side of the graph. The significance of the change is plotted on the vertical axis. The red dashed line indicates a p value of 0.05 adjusted with a Bonferroni correction for 2868 multiple tests. The size of the symbol indicates the average normalized expression value
