  1. Enzyme reactions were conducted at 45 °C and pH 6.5. For assays with CMC, β-glucan and xylan, the reaction duration was 30 min, while a mixture of substrate and enzyme was incubated for 1 h in the assays with Avicel, PASC, FP and chitosan. The hydrolysis of pNPC (10 mmol/L) was assayed by monitoring the concentration of released p-nitrophenol at 410 nm after addition of NaOH at a final concentration of 0.1 mmol/L
