General biochemical properties of FjoAcXE. For optimum pH (a) and pH stability (b), the samples were tested using 100 mM Tris, 50 mM MES, 50 mM acetic acid, and 50 mM sodium acetate trihydrate universal buffer, with pH range of 3.5–9.5. Temperature stability (c), effect of metal ions (d), and effect of selected solvents and reactants (e), were measured using 0.5 mM 4-MUA in 50 mM HEPES (pH 8.0) where reactions proceeded for 20 min at 30 °C.
