Monosaccharide composition of non-cellulosic polysaccharides in cell walls of wild type (WT) and Bdlsi1-1 plants. Cell walls (CW) were isolated from leaves, stems and spikelets of B. distachyon wild-type and Bdlsi1-1 plants harvested at the ripening stage of growth (a–c) and from straw (d) and entire shoots (e) at maturity. Samples were obtained by hydrolyzing CW with 2 M TFA, followed by separation and quantification by HPAEC. Data represent mean values (± SD, n = 5.) asterisks indicate significant differences (*p ≤ 0.05; **p ≤ 0.01; ***p ≤ 0.001) between the wild type and the mutant as assessed by one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s HDS post hoc test.
