Northern blot analysis of Sye_sRNA1 and Sye_sRNA3 in S. elongatus UTEX 2973. Cells were initially grown at 33 °C with a light intensity of 150 µmol photons m−2 s−1 (CT) in the presence of 3% CO2 and were shifted to high-light conditions (HL, 700 µmol photons/m2/s) and dark conditions (DK, 0 µmol photons/m2/s). Total RNA was extracted at the given time points, blotted onto nylon membranes and hybridized with 32P labeled, specific RNA probes against Sye_sRNA1, Sye_sRNA3 and 5S rRNA
