L. starkeyi secretome activity against PCS with added E1 endoglucanase. Each secretome protein was loaded at 84 mg of overall secretome protein, along with 2 mg endoglucanase E1 (A. cellulolyticus E1-CD Y245G mutant) and 0.5 mg purified Aspergillus niger β-glucosidase per g PCS glucan. The enzymes acted on 5 mg PCS glucan per mL, at 40 °C, pH 5.0 in 20 mM acetate. Conversion percentages were calculated based on HPLC determinations of released monomeric glucose
