Comparison of the activity of Cl. thermocellum-based designer cellulosome (green bars) versus hyperthermophilic Ca. bescii-based designer cellulosome (red bars) at 60 °C (a) and 75 °C (b). The three enzymes of the two designer cellulosomes are from the same GH enzyme family: GH5, GH9 and GH48. Enzymatic activity is defined as mM of released sugars after 24 to 72 h incubation of the enzymes with 4% of Avicel substrate.
