Effect of pretreatment time at 140 °C and 150 °C on glucan, xylan, and total glucan plus xylan yields from CELF pretreatment (Stage 1) of switchgrass, enzymatic hydrolysis of the pretreated solids (Stage 2), and the two stages combined. Stage 1 reaction conditions: solids loading of 7.5 wt% with an acid loading of 0.5 wt % based on liquid weight, THF/water mass ratio-0.889:1. Stage 2 enzymatic hydrolysis was performed on pretreated solids at a 10 g/L glucan loading with 65 mg of Accellerase® 1500 protein/g glucan in unpretreated switchgrass
