The GH10 and GH48 domains synergize in hydrolyzing filter paper, a crystalline form of cellulose. Filter paper was incubated with the truncation mutants at 75 °C, pH 6.5 (McIlvaine buffer) for 5 h and the reaction products were analyzed by HPAEC–PAD. The degrees of synergy are indicated, which were calculated by dividing the amount of a sugar of TM1 + TM2 or TM3 by the sum of the sugar released by TM1 and TM2 separately
