Absolute recoveries (a) and removal (b) of lignin and glucuronoarabinoxylan (GAX) after 7 days of growth of P. anserina on wheat straw lignin isolate and insoluble wheat glucoronoarabinoxylan. Total insoluble and water-soluble fractions based on compositional analysis by using quantitative 13C-IS py-GC–MS (lignin) and constituent monosaccharide analysis after H2SO4 hydrolysis (carbohydrates). Others represent residual dry matter. Note that the initial lignin isolate contained some residual carbohydrates (10% w/w) and initial hemicellulose contained some residual cellulose (16% w/w) [23]
