Continuous fermentation to produce lactic acid using E. mundtii QU 25 with combined cellobiose and xylose. The designed feeding sugar combinations were cellobiose 100 g L−1 and xylose 60 g L−1 (C100X60, left); and cellobiose 50 g L−1 and xylose 30 g L−1 (C50X30, right). Both reactors started with batch mode and then transferred to continuous mode after achieving state state. The color-coded curves show the simulation results and the symbols indicate the experimental results. At least three analyses were carried out before the transition of different operational conditions in the process
