After regulating lipid metabolism, the unsaturated fatty acid content increased twofold, and an elongated cell morphology was obtained, facilitating lupeol efflux from the cell to the lipophilic solvent isopropyl myristate, thereby improving cell activity and the capacity for single-cell triterpene synthesis (right).
