  1. 4-hydrozybenzaldehyde (4HB) was not detected in any of the substrates. The concentrations of acetic acid and phenol for the phenol/acetate blend (PHE/ACE) and acetate (ACE) were determined by weight measurement during their preparation, while the complex substrates’ composition was determined by HPLC
