HPAEC–PAD chromatograms showing soluble products generated upon incubation of TtLPMO9E with various mixtures of PASC, Avicel and/or WAX30 in the presence or absence of UmGH62. The reactions contained 0.2% (w/v) PASC and/or 0.2% (w/w) Avicel and 0.2% (w/v) WAX30, or 0.4% (w/w) Avicel only, and were performed in 50 mM BisTris–HCl buffer, pH 6.5, at 40 °C, for 16 h. Control reactions without reductant did not generate any oxidized products (Additional file 1: Fig. S6)
