Investigating the possible synergistic interaction between T732-deleted PgDOD and BgDOD1 on betaxanthin fluorescence. The integration of intact PgDOD or BgDOD1 alongside AnTyH-BgDOD1 did not result in any betaxanthin titer close to library isolates. However, by expressing PgDODT732∆ an increase in fluorescence is observed, and by expressing the truncated version PgDODT732∆, AA−251:271∆ (deleted tail after the premature stop codon at AA251) the betaxanthin content was restored to that of Lib3-iso16. Data shown are mean values ± SDs of n = 6 biological replicates
