Actual concentrations of substrate are shown in gram glucose equivalents/L (g gluc eq/L) since Avicel PH105 contains xylose and insoluble residual content, and has a moisture content of around 5%. The three categories of maximum substrate utilization rates shown in Figure 1 are based on percentage utilization as shown here (approximately 80% utilization, 93% utilization and 100% utilization).
