The combined effects of common lignocellulose-derived inhibitors on the growth of strain MITXM-61. The strain was grown in defined media in presence of the mixed nine inhibitors at 1/10, 1/12, 1/15, and 1/20 of the IC50 against strain MITXM-61 at the exposure duration of 2 days (1.2 g L−1 lignin, 1.0 g L−1 furfural, 1.1 g L−1 HMF, 0.55 g L−1 vanillin, 0.28 g L−1 4-HB, 0.30 g L−1 syringaldehyde, 5.8 g L−1 levulinic acid, 2.7 g L−1 formic acid, and 3.3 g L−1 acetic acid) in each of inhibitors. Values and error bars represent the mean and the standard deviation of triplicate experiments.
