Metal ions involved in incorporation to collagenases during production in yeast cells instead of in vitro assembly. A Cell growth; B collagenase activity. None: strains B0, BG02 and BH01 were cultured in YPD medium without supplementation of CaCl2 and ZnCl2. Before: B0, BG02 and BH01 were cultured in YPD medium supplemented with 10 mM CaCl2 and 0.6 mM ZnCl2. After: B0, BG02 and BH01 were cultured in YPD medium; when fermentation was finished, CaCl2 and ZnCl2 were added to the culture at a final concentration of 10 mM and 0.6 mM, respectively. * P < 0.05; ** P < 0.01
